Dr. Marian Ciuca, Acting Head for Greek, Downe House School - 12 Jan 2011
Is a very good piece of software for early to middle stages of Latin, with intuitive interface and very user friendly; it provides us with loads of extra-practice of various degrees of difficulty, from very easy to quite challenging. It practically cover 75-80% of what GCSE pupils should know. One can only hope for a sequel to 'Nil Desperandum' being developed, to contain more advanced material for Sixth Form students.

This software has proved to be a superb adjunct to my resource pool. The pupils have enjoyed the interactive nature of both the grammar and the testing facilities, and they have been able to add significantly to their understanding and knowledge through regular exposure to the material on the whiteboard. I have one of the early versions, but will be upgrading as soon as possible. This is a must have piece of software for both CE and Scholarship, but could also be of use to those embarking on GCSE who need reminding of the key elements of grammar and vocabulary.

We have just started using Nil Desperandum! and agree that it's the best piece of Latin language software we have seen. Whether for planning, testing or revising - for teacher or pupil - it is an excellent labour-saving and consolidating piece of kit. If you're looking for 'the buy' of the year from your budget, look no further - this is it!

Excellent resource of questions for all prep school Latin teaching! Provides the resources for regular and constant practice of grammar, either in class or for a pupil on his/her own.

Everything is going for this Latin CE & Scholarship revision software. It has a simple interface yet looks lively and doesn't need a degree in rocket science to operate on a whiteboard; it needs little explanation to pupils, using menu bar headings to access grammar and vocabulary tests; and getting set up and started is a breeze with such simple installation instructions. After trying this out with a class just for one day I'm definitely going ahead to order the fully paid version.
One more thing: though the software is not Mac compatible I run it on Parallels Desktop - itself a very reliable Windows emulator for Intel Macs.
