There is a pleasantly quirky streak to this book with its amusing illustrations and no-nonsense approach. The material is very well presented throughout ... I could see it being particularly helpful for a bright 11+ incomer with minimal French looking to catch up. It could also be used in a mixed CE/Scholarship group ... Skeleton French can be used as a free-standing text or, indeed, as an adjunct to one of the less rigorous courses with which we are all familiar.

The book is really easy to use, everything is explained in simple words, with lots of examples and exercises to make sure you've understood what you've learnt. There is also a CD that I now listen to on the way to work and on the way to my evening class to practice! This book is a real lifesaver and I would highly recommend it to anyone!

I am thankful for the easy reference tips that Skeleton French provides because I can quickly look in it to see what help it offers when we are feeling a little overwhelmed. Skeleton French and So you really want to learn French 1 work really well together.
