***** We home-educate and have used both 'So you really want to learn History' books, 1 and 2. These are really excellent textbooks, appropriate for age 10 and up. Very intelligently written, no dumbing down, good source material. Encourages critical and unbiased analysis. Would highly recommend for anyone who wants to study British history from 1066-1500 (book 1) and 1500-1750 (book 2).

This is a well-illustrated, colourful and accessible text. It gives a fine chronological approach and is certainly above most Key Stage 3 texts on offer in meeting the needs for Common Entrance.
Paul Nicholl, Head of History, Handcross Park School - 19 Feb 2009
The introduction of So you really want to learn History Books 1 & 2 has been a wonderful bonus to my teaching my pupils this year. The books are so colourful and relevant, sitting alongside my own History notes very comfortably. We are also enjoying the Junior History series lower down the school.
Jonathan Watts, Head of History, Benenden School - 29 Oct 2008
This is the book I have been waiting for. It is written with style, wit and balance, dealing comprehensively with all the main aspects of the period chronalogically, but not shying away from hostorical debates...Above all it is enjoyable, well-informed, authoritative and stylish - just what is needed to cultivate enthusiasm for History at Key Stage 3.
Geoffrey Whitehead, Deputy Head, Vinehall School - 29 Oct 2008
The latest Galore Park History book will be a godsend to all those who for years have been been coping with poor quality textbooks containing little information and a poor sense of narrative. It contains all the essential information (and more) in an accessible format... this book will surely be the mainstay of history teaching at Key Stage 3 for years to come.
Gavin Hannah, Summer Fields School - 26 Sep 2008
At last a book of substance to develop our pupils' knowledge, skills and understanding. I look forward to using it. Magnificent.
Matthew Smith, Attain magazine - 11 Sep 2008
The layout of the book is excellent - clear and approachable with very good illustrations ... An excellent series and well worth purchasing to get your child interested in history but - be warned - you will almost certainly end up reading it yourself first.
Caroline Hampton, Home Educator - 9 Sep 2008
I love the fact that your History books are chronological - such a rare thing and makes so much more sense than the way the National Curriculum does history.
