This new book covers everything pupils need to know for the non-linguistic section of the Latin Common Entrance exam at 13+, and provides a thorough introduction to what life was really like for the Romans as they carried out their daily routine in Rome, in Britain and in the Roman army. The book also features some of the most exciting and famous classical myths which form the foundation of Roman culture. It is the ideal resource to support Common Entrance study and to help pupils improve their understanding of the cultural background to the Roman world.

Bob Bass - Review in the SATIPS Broadsheet Autumn Term 2011 - 10 Nov 2011
It is a welcome addition to the armoury of prep school teachers, who hitherto have had to cull material from a wide range of sources, and whose cris de coeur for a single book to cover this wide range of material...have now been answered.

Mark Edwards, Head of Classics, Dragon School - 23 Mar 2011
A very thorough and informative book, covering all the bases for Common Entrance question 4 in superb detail, along with perfectly pitched CE-style questions. However, it will also be very useful for lower years as a springboard for a wide range of Classical background teaching. This book is an excellent buy for any prep school department, and one teachers will dip into gratefully time and again.

James Wall, Head of Classics, Port Regis School - 21 Mar 2011
At last here is the book which all prep school Latin teachers having been waiting for. Ms Wright's lively re-telling of the Greek myths and her clear explanation of Roman background topics provide pupils with just the right amount of information to tackle Common Entrance questions with confidence. There is a wealth of useful exam-style questions, as well as imaginative extension ideas which encourage the children to research the topics in greater depth and to communicate their interest both verbally and on paper.
