On Tuesday 21 June, the team behind the brand-new Galore Park 11+ and Pre-Test revision and practice series came together to celebrate the launch of this flagship series. Specialist authors, independent school teachers, test writers,  reviewers, tutors and the in-house Galore Park team enjoyed a night off at Galore Park’s head office in London to recognise and admire all of the hard work that has gone into every book in this new range.

The children are tired at the end of a long school year and you’ve just put your feet up after running everybody back and forth… so the last thing you all need is more work.

The truth is that everybody needs a break, though with so many children competing for so few places, the unfortunate reality is that if your family doesn’t do the work there are plenty more who will. But, if it does have to start now, the real question is how to make the process as pain-free as possible.

Awaiting the arrival of test results – what could I do differently next time?

The latest round of exams is over and young people, parents and teachers will be awaiting the arrival of the results with mixed feelings.

There will be some who are confident of success, there will be others who remember, with some frustration perhaps, missed opportunities, and there may, unfortunately, be a few who are dreading the arrival of the results because they feel that they have not done themselves justice. Questions will be asked to which there can be no proper answer at this stage. Was an appropriate time devoted to revising? Should I have prepared in a different way? Hopefully, the large majority will have the satisfaction of knowing that they prepared thoroughly and did their best.

Hopefully your revision is complete and you are now ready and able to show off your knowledge and understanding during the week ahead. This will probably be most intense examination week in your lives. It is unlikely that you will ever have to complete as many exams in such a short time again.  The plus is that, by the end of the week, it will all be over and you will be able to relax and enjoy yourselves.
