Accessibility

Our website

Hodder Education is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of technology or ability.

We are actively working to increase the accessibility and usability of our website and in doing so adheres to many of the available standards and guidelines.

This website endeavours to conform to level A of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0.

These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. Conformance with these guidelines will help make the web more user friendly for all people.

Whilst  Hodder Education strive to adhere to the accepted guidelines and standards for accessibility and usability, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website.

We are continually seeking out solutions that will bring all areas of the site up to the same level of overall accessibility. In the meantime should you experience any difficulty in accessing the Hodder Education  website, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

Visually impaired and print-disabled students

Requests for electronic material for visually impaired and print-disabled students must be made via RNIB Bookshare (formerly Load2Learn). RS Assessment tests are the exception to this, for any assessment titles please contact us directly as below. Bookshare is a charity online database run by the Royal National Institute for the Blind that provides educational materials free of charge to VIP students in the UK. Please note that requests are accepted only from educational institutions on behalf of individual students.

Hodder Education resources are supported by Bookshare outside of the UK. Using Bookshare students with dyslexia, blindness, cerebral palsy and other reading barriers can customise their experience to make reading easier for them. Find out more https://www.bookshare.org/

If Bookshare are unable to fulfil your request, please contact vip@hodder.co.uk with the completed VIP permissions form attached. Email requests currently have a processing time of between four and six weeks, and there will be a charge to reflect the costs we incur in supplying files.

Please note that the file we provide is a standard PDF format. We do not produce Braille or large print copies, but we permit visually-impaired persons and affiliate organizations to create accessible copies of the text to suit individual needs.
